Professional Liability Insurance

While the OHA Board of Directors strongly believes that liability coverage for practitioners is necessary, we do not feel that our members support making such insurance mandatory at this time.

Insurance is available on an individual basis through various companies, and members are advised to explore different options. However, please be aware that not all policies cover the internal use of remedies.

The only option previously investigated at this time, is the Holistic Practitioners policy through Nacora Insurance Brokers. In the past, Nacora's holistic practitioner's policy did not cover internal remedies. Nacora now have a new carrier, and compounding and internal remedies are fully covered for herbalists. The Nacora policy includes liability and general business insurance as a package.

The Board will endeavor to locate other policies in the future.
